Aki Inomata's 3D printed cities - New York, Thailand, Greece - were a hit for her little hermit crab population!  I think these stunning clear plastic printed architectural homes look like sparkling crystal or diamond constructions!! I have a deep fascination for hermit crabs and often find myself immersed in the repetition of catching them with my hands, inspecting them, letting them scuttle away and, on occasion, watching them change shells. Changing homes and cities has been a defining characteristic of my life...so I get it!!   

Throughout many years of formal education in historical, theoretical and the applied arts and, even more years of personal encounters with the arts, this Newton photograph continues to resonate for me. I keep coming back to this photograph with fresh eyes. It reminds me of all the things I love and loathe. It disturbs and seduces in ways that takes me to a psychological edge! There are little motifs which rely more on your imagination than on what is actually in the photograph.
